The Other Side of Philanthropy Speed-Dating

Kathy Karpé is the Director of Development for Casa de Amparo, a non-profit organization whose mission is to support those affected by and at risk of child abuse and nelect, through a range of programs and services that promote healing, growth, and healthy relationships. Casa de Amparo was a recipient of one of the Jewish Teen Foundation's grants in 2015.

StartFragmentI had the privilege to join the San Diego Jewish Teen Foundation for the second time on February 28th. Non Profits were carefully selected by the youth to meet with further and learn about each organization. The evening was well thought out and incredibly organized. The youth took an authentic role in the evening and you could tell by their responses that they truly care about making a difference! Our San Diego Jewish Community should be so proud of its youth. What an incredible group of high energy, smart, young leaders we have here! They are learning about the importance of making informed, carefully thought out Philanthropic gifts throughout the local community and internationally. It is refreshing to be a part of a community who is investing in its youth to take responsibility for the many needs that exist in our world today. It is this investment of time and energy that will set our youth up to be great leaders and take responsibility for those in need, our environment and the many impacts we can make during our lifetime.EndFragment
